The English Learner program at WSHS has made concerted and consistent efforts to educate and train all staff members with various educational strategies to assist their English-Language Learners. This training has taken place over the past few years, and it has been incredibly successful in terms of helping staff members build a lasting rapport with ELL students, as well as helping them acclimate to the culture of our building and unlock content and curriculum from various courses. Every year the department and school recognize EL seniors who have been a part of our program. The ceremony takes place in the school's auditorium, and the Principal recognizes each student for their achievements. WSHS has worked to expand the number of sheltered instruction course offerings that are available to meet the needs of EL students. WSHS will also continue to offer effective Professional Learning opportunities for staff to ensure that the classroom environment is one that promotes learning for all students and meets the needs of our English Learners.
