Student Account and Device Information 2020

WSHS Technology Wakelet

PWCS Student Username and Password:

A students username is determined as follows:
First 6 Letters of the Last Name
First Initial
Middle Initial
Last 2 digits of graduation year.

Reset your password. 

Student Accounts:

Students will log into the following accounts with their username. 
1. Canvas: this is our district learning management system. This is where students will find all their assignments and submit all their assignments. 
2. StudentVue: this is where students will view their schedule,  grades and report cards.
3. Zoom: this is the video conferencing platform your student will use to meet with their teachers. 
4.  Microsoft Office365: Outlook Email, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Students will log into the following accounts with their username:
Google Drive: Google Docs, Slide, Sheets, Forms, and Sites.
For incoming freshman your first google password is: Student#WSHS, ex 123456WSHS

Troubleshooting Sound for Zoom

Go to Settings > System > Sound.

Under Output (speakers) click Device Properties.

In Device properties click Additional device properties.

Click the Advanced tab.

Uncheck "Enable audio enhancements."

Click OK.

Go back to Sound.

Under Input (microphone)click Device Properties.

In Device properties click Additional device properties.

Click the Advanced tab.

Uncheck "Enable audio enhancements."

Click OK.

Beginning September 8, families can call Woodbridge High School's main line, 703-497-8000, for tech support during school hours. If the representative on the line is unable to assist, your request will be elevated to our technology support team and someone will be in touch via phone or email. 

Additionally, the PWCS Help Desk is staffed Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m. when schools are in session and 8 a.m.–4 p.m. when schools are not in session. Parents, students, and staff can request help with everything from password resets, device log in and assistance with Canvas and the Hub.

Student Login Instructions

1. Power on the system and press Ctrl-Alt-Delete at the same time on the login/lock screen.
2. In the Username Field type: .\pwcsstudent (The period and backslash need to be there).
3. In the password field type: pwc$stud3nt
4. Press enter.
5. You will now be logged in. Please know this may take a few minutes.
6. To access your email and other Office 365 resources you can go to

Laptop/Device Checkout Agreement

1. Parent/Guardian and student will review all aspects of the Prince William County Public School's Acceptable Use Policy for Computer Systems and Network Usage, Regulation 295-1.
2. Accessing the Internet via the Student Device shall be used for instructional purposes and not for recreational or employment activities.
3. Once the Student Device is returned, data the student may have stored on the device will no longer be accessible.
4. The Student Device and accessories will be surrendered immediately upon request of the instructor or school official.
5. Parent/Guardian will reimburse Prince William County Public Schools for the cost of a replacement should the Student Device be lost, stolen, or damaged. The costs incurred will not exceed the original cost of the device and its accessories. In the case of lost, stolen, or damaged equipment, parent/student agrees to contact the school within five business days so that appropriate procedures can be put into action to ensure replacement. If a device is lost or stolen and the replacement cost creates a financial hardship, the parent/guardian must contact the student's counselor to determine a solution to this difficulty.
