We are looking forward to welcoming Vikings back to school on August 22, 2022. As you prepare for the start of the school year, visit this page often for updated information.


August 11 – Back to School Webinar, 7 p.m.

Who is invited to attend? Woodbridge Senior High School families.
More information about the event:

  • Topics that will be covered include parking, drop off/pick up, what to expect on the first day of school, overview of our bell schedule, student activities, supplies, and more!
  • Registration information coming soon via email.

August 17 – WSHS School Tours

Who is invited to attend? All freshmen and new students to Woodbridge Senior High School. Parents/legal guardians are invited to attend as well. 

  • Sign up for a building tour by August 15. Please enter through door 1 and arrive on time; tours last approximately 30 minutes and will run from 9 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.

August 18 – New Student Orientation, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Who is invited to attend? All freshmen and new students to Woodbridge Senior High School.
More information about the event:

  • New students will have a chance to go through their schedule, meet their teachers, counselors, and administrators, and get information about clubs and activities available at Woodbridge Senior High School.
  • Families will view a presentation from Mrs. Abney and our administrative team, meet their student’s administrator, get information on clubs and activities, and can purchase spirit wear.
  • Bus transportation will be available from the following locations. Students should arrive no later than 10:20 a.m. as buses will depart promptly at 10:30 a.m. and will leave WSHS at 2:15 p.m.

    • Kilby Elementary
    • Lake Ridge Elementary
    • Lake Ridge Middle
    • Occoquan Elementary
    • Rockledge Elementary
    • Springwoods Elementary
    • Westridge Elementary

August 22 – First Day of School! Doors open at 7 a.m. and First Period begins at 7:30 a.m. Dismissal is at 2:10 p.m.

August 30 – Back to School Night, 6:00 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.

More information about the event:

  • Families will be able to walk their student’s schedules, attend an extracurricular fair, participate in information sessions on various topics.
  • More information will be sent by email to families as we get closer.


What Supplies Does My Student Need?

Beyond the traditional school supplies of a pen, pencil, paper and possibly a highlighter, all students at Woodbridge Senior High School will be receiving a laptop with cloud storage. More information about school supplies.

Details on device distribution will be provided early August with distribution occurring either two weeks prior to the start of the school year or on the first day of school.

How Does My Student Get Involved With Sports And Clubs?

Check out the WSHS Student Activities page! We also encourage students and families to ask questions at the extracurricular fair at the New Student Orientation and Back to School Night.

How Can I Best Support My Student?

Parents/guardians are critical members of the WSHS community and your support is essential. We encourage you to participate in the PSO, Athletic Boosters, and other parent organizations.
